The Fashionable Scarf

When the weather starts to get colder, scarves come back and quickly become one of the must have accessories for the season. Fashion changes every year, which means there are always new styles to try. One of the trendiest options this season is the skinny scarf. While it doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with keeping you warm on cold winter days, it is a statement piece and many brands are joining the trend.

There are different ways to tie the skinny scarf depending on the material and the length. For the long skinny scarf from Nasty Gal, it can be draped and then knotted at the neck.

Because the skinny scarf is long and thin, so may be a bit hindering especially when it’s made with heavy fabric. The shorter skinny scarf might be a better choice.

If the casual knot tie isn’t for you, another way to tie the skinny scarf is to make bowknot.

You can also wear it without knot, by simply wrapping it around the neck.

Making a knot on the side of the neck can give you a more neutral feeling. For this method, the skinny scarf should not be too thin, and it must be tied in a knot, because the skinny scarf is usually so light it could easily blow away.

Last year, it was fashionable to tie a large scarf into a belt. This year, while the skinny scarves are on trend, we are just not ready to say good-bye to the large scarf yet. We have an easier way to wear them however – draping the scarf over the shoulder.

A scarf made of faux fur is also a good choice for this year.

The scarf is not simply an item to keep you warm during the cold weather, but also a fashion item worthy to play and experiment with.  A scarf that reflects your personal style will be a highlight in your wardrobe.

  1. I love this article because the author talks about a new trend and shows you different ways to wear it and the places you can buy the scarves at. I found this article very helpful because I'm from Florida and before coming to Drexel, scarves weren't an accessory in my everyday wardrobe. Also, I'm not as current on the fall/winter trends. Now I know how to look stylish and where to purchase this cool scarf.

It is definitely different, but I am enjoying the trend. I found this article helpful because the author provided different ways on how to style it. I like how it can be worn both casually and going out. It is definitely a statement. I am looking forward to incorporating a skinny scarf in my wardrobe this season!
